Mejorada Googled It

Self-styled investigative journalist Manuel Mejorada complained that the Ilo-ilo Convention Center was overpriced. He also charged that Senate President Franklin Drilon, DPWH Secretary Rogelio Signson, DoT Secretary Ramon Jimenez, among others, should answer for the material injury they inflicted upon the people.

But when the Philippine Senate, pushed by various sectors to probe one of its members–and the leader at that–held a public hearing through its Blue Ribbon Committee to gather more facts, Mejorada could only present regurgitated careless whispers. He also consulted Wikipedia. It was the equivalent, the Inquirer seemed to have said in its editorial today, of googling information to buttress one’s hypothesis. Mejorada, it appeared, carried on with such a methodology and swore by it.
